Giving Thanks.

It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season. If you’re anything like me, after Halloween, the weekends begin to fill up with fall activities and you can get into a cycle of being “busy.” Things to do, presents to buy, gatherings to plan, parties to attend, friends to see, family to care for, work to accomplish, to-do lists to complete, and it goes on and on. This “busy” often trickles into how we feel, how much effort we put into tasks, and how much patience we have with others. And, on days like today, surrounded by friends, family, and food, the busy-ness can get to be a little overwhelming.

So, I want to challenge you to take break from the busy today. I’ll do it, too.

Here goes….take a deep breath, close your eyes, and just for a minute, reflect on the past year and all that has changed, improved, and been accomplish. Allow yourself to savor this quiet moment, a short pause from the busy, to just focus on the good. As you think of each thing that you’re grateful for, honor it with a deep breath and a silent “thank you,” and let the warmth of that wash over you. You can do this for a minute, 5 minutes, or stay in this calm space for however long it suits you. Then go ahead back to your day and find even more to be grateful for.

I hope that you enjoy this practice. It’s one of my favorite ways to recenter and slow down!

Wishing you a very happy Thanksgiving, and oh-so many things to be grateful for!
xx Hannah
